The most confusing concept for Mastodon newbies is that you aren't locked out of other content if you join one server or the other.

They're labeled based on interest as a shorthand. But longer-term organic discovery is based on follows and hashtags. You can always migrate later.

@antimnguyen Soooo is there a way to closely follow another server (example: med-mastadon) and see things that are locally posted there that don't have a hashtag in the post? Help, am noob.

@Britt As far as I know, I don't think so but I would very much want that as well! You are dependent on hashtags, people you follow on that server and the content that those people boost on that server.

@antimnguyen Thanks! I wonder if it's feasible to just follow every single account on the server I'm interested in, forever. 🤔

@Britt Might be easier to have a bot do it, and to follow that bot haha
