Y'ALL
you can vote for Biden in the primaries and November and still protest his shitty policies NOW.
corporatist democrats aren't your friends. they're neoliberal machiavellians who sold us out and killed FDRs' New Deal.
https://monthlyreview.org/2001/04/01/neoliberalism-from-reagan-to-clinton/
don't be an ahistoric buffoon screaming "BUT TRUMP IS GONNA WIN".
45+ years of neoliberal Reaganism wouldn't have gotten us here w/o neoliberal democrats' complicity.
so if we have no choice but to vote for corporatists, we MUST protest them 24/7
a lot of y'all need a refresher on how abjectly bad Clintonism was for the rest of us, so here's a good TL;DR based on one of the thousands of books published about Clinton's 8 years in office:
"How Bill Clinton’s Presidency Changed American Capitalism – Mother Jones
https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2023/09/how-bill-clintons-presidency-changed-american-capitalism-lichtenstein-interview/
Biden description as a centrist is but a euphemism: this is the man that called Storm Thurmond his Capitol Hill "dad".
but his style of machiavellism makes me adept to reacting to protest. remember that.
"Reaganism initiated a new “social contract” – according to which the handful at the top benefit egregiously, while everybody else works more and gets less."
[...]
"Bill Clinton [...] didn’t just bring his fellow Democrats along as he set about promoting Reaganism. He changed them fundamentally; causing them to make the Reagan agenda their own."
just remember: there is no #Bidenomics without #Reaganism and #Clintonism.
"What is Clintonism? - CounterPunch.org
https://www.counterpunch.org/2014/07/25/what-is-clintonism/
"The book begins with the rise of the DLC, which at its start, you observe, is very much a group of white male Democrats, mainly from the Sunbelt states. They’re united by a strong distaste for the politics of welfare liberalism, for the New Deal, and especially for the Great Society programs. What specifically is their critique of the postwar Democratic Party...?"

Woaaaah....what you've sketched out in your thread doesn't track with what I lived through in those eras. But before I say more I'd like to read the articles.
No mention of Clinton policies should go without mention of the Gingrich Revolution arm-twisting that also occurred. Blaming one guy for what gangs of other people were doing don't cut any mustard with me.
@ClaraListensprechen4 @blogdiva tracks for me and my experience. Cutting wellfare and juicing the carceral state were key.
@ClaraListensprechen4 No, those were signature features of the campaign.
@nebkor
The Reagan campaign included Democrats and he dubbed them "Reagan Democrats" so here's a reminder that Reagan was pro-union and was himself the president of one.
So your memory is in error, Significantly so.
