Why does femininity have such a bad reputation amongst feminists?

@sim feminism isn't so much about feminity, but about the empowerment of women.

@Demosthenes I could see that, like feminists see that empowering women means that they have to take on the roles that are seen as traditionally masculine. Particularly to be financially independent, you need a job... most jobs require that you exhibit traits that are viewed as masculine in order to get ahead. The feminine is then either rejected or neglected in favour of what will empower them.

@sim historically, this 100%. What's interesting to see is that as women gain a large chunk of power in certain environments, they basically feminize it, flipping that around and pushing away masculinity in the office space. The exception to this is in positions of power or management.

@Demosthenes That is interesting. It would be interesting to see what a feminine power or management environment would be like, where the women are behaving in a feminine way and haven't discarded that to get ahead.
