so, is this instance (mastodon.social) going to become the Facebook of the Fediverse? I mean, just bc it’s so big and so lightly moderated? I plan on not moving to a smaller instance, though I can understand why people are doing that…

mastodon.social actually wants people to move because instances aren't supposed to be so big. It let's people join anyway because people need somewhere to land when first joining Mastodon.

You seem like a good candidate for an activist instance.

@EubieDrew ah, interesting. thanks for the background. as for me, I’m going to stay here. plus, I don’t consider myself an “activist,” and I don’t really like the idea of finding “like minded” people anyway. one thing I love about online life is the wide range of lived experiences, values, perspectives.
