The #BubbleTimeline feature in #Akkoma is super underrated. This feature allows you to add a list of instances where you want to import their timelines into one timeline as if they're local to you.

For instance, my #bubble included #mstdnca, #hachyderm, infosec.exchange, thecanadian.social and a couple others. On my view, it's as if they're my #neighbours & I can see into their timelines.

It narrows down the giant firehose that is the #federated timeline to something you actually want to scroll through.

Wished more #fediverse #microblogging platforms like #Mastodon, #MissKey & #Pleroma would add a feature like this. You guys are definitely missing out!

My instance .org has this by allowing you to follow domains () and put them in your home feed or on a list feed.

@EubieDrew

Looks like the qoto.org instance is running a customized version of #Mastodon, very nice. Is the version running on it forever stuck on version 3.2.1?

That's pretty neat that the instance was able to get #Mastodon to implement its version of the bubble timeline. Really wish to see it get upstreamed to be included in the official release of Mastodon.

@deltatux

Someday it'll become it's own official fork. Officially 3.2.1, but new mainstream Masto features usually get adopted ad hoc.
