@mathias Makes sense. Again I get reminded that to decipher Germanic languages vocabulary is to say the word aloud and then it makes sense:
* German [Fahrt](en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Fahrt)
* Dutch [vaart](en.wiktionary.org/wiki/vaart)
Although in neither I heard it used in the meaning of "speed", rather in the sense of journey/navigation.

Re infart/utfart: German Ausfahrt is indeed the word. What got me the first time was the Dutch "uit" ("out" - pronounced exactly the same way) written all around motorways. Took me a while to decipher.

So Happy Fart-ing in the New Year? 😉
