What if I told you that one of the accounts you interact with regularly on Mastodon is actually a sophisticated bot.
The same could apply to twitter too.
How can you tell which account is artificially sentient and which is real?
I wonder if it/he/she will pass the turing test.
@Full_marx The bot accounts I have seen in fediverse so far have always been labelled clearly as bots. And on some systems, including qoto, bot accounts are acceptable only if they behave in certain, prescribed ways.
Here at qoto, they must post as "Unlisted" only, although we seem to have one bot that posts to the local timeline pretty widely.
Could an AI pass as a human, that would be the Turing test moment. I think they soon will.
