Wait. The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 FOR voting rights? I’m truly surprised and delighted! Alabama, which is 27 percent Black, likely will get two instead of one Black folks to represent them in Congress, out of the delegation of seven, after the Court agreed the state had racially gerrymandered.

@georgetakei , this is a non issue to the courts, as other methods of gerrymandering are still perfectly legal.

The cure for this is a constitutional amendment banning the process. These rules need to be amazingly well defined, and universal across the states: redistricting.lls.edu/redistri

@JonKramer @georgetakei The cure is to get rid of voting districts and winner-take-all schemes.
