Mastodon can be so weird. My feeds are filled with lots of posts complaining about how and why people are doing mastodon wrong, how they should post, why they should change their server, shaming people for forgetting to add text to an image, calling people who haven’t deleted their twitter accounts Nazis, now followed by posts ripping on people trying Threads….all followed by posts wondering why people don’t seem to enjoy Mastodon as much as they think they should. I just can’t imagine why 🙄
I like Mastodon, don’t get me wrong. But a lot folks on here who write these kinds of posts also talk about how Mastodon is superior because it isn’t as mean as Twitter, but I’ve seen quite a bit of meanness, it’s just wearing different clothing. Just my .02. 🤷♀️
@DrPsyBuffy , I have only been here since last October, when the 1st wave left the bird app. Yes, there are bad actors here. I have found the occasional white supremist group with their own servers supporting that. What I find far less of is people demanding that they know how hateful you are, and jumping to insults. It is really strange these days to see that happen. A couple weeks ago it did happen. I mentioned in a random thread why I would not / did not vote for Hillary and was verbally assaulted. It was just like the old Twitter days. But what is daily there is monthly here.
