I'm waiting to hear back from someone I can, ahem, trust to give me the most accurate details of Mom's fall, but I can say that she didn't break anything this time, or hit her head. Her back and shoulder, yes, but not her head, thankfully.

She's bruised and sore but they didn't need to take her to the hospital.

@AmyPetty Oh no! I mean, I'm glad it's not worse, but that's awful!

@JoshuaSharp Thanks. Based on what I've heard, Mom's mostly okay. Her friend was there and helped get her up and settled, and Mom landed backward against her recliner instead of any of her hardwood furniture. Of course it was her bad hip and shoulder that she hit.

But the real damage is psychological. Mom's taken a nasty fall at least once annually now for the last half dozen years, and she's so terrified now that each time she self-confines just a little bit more.

@JoshuaSharp She either can't understand or can't accept that every time she insists on confining herself to her bed, she just makes her body that much weaker and more unstable. She's had home health people over to help her with physical therapy, but she also keeps finding reasons to cancel those appointments and doesn't follow up outside of those sessions.
