#NoCelebrityCulture is a dream scenario and it's good to see so many of the #Mastdoon users support that.
Almost all the topics that are debated or discussed in India revolves around some celebrity/politicians.
They never represent / care about what a commoner has to say.
For e.g.
During De-monetization almost all the celebs tweeted/posted videos praising our PM, some went further to order us that it's 'ok' to suffer for the sake of our nation. But I remember myself and so many common citizen struggling. Things spiraled out of control. But not for the so- called celebs.
@Karthikdeva Mastodon is so anti-celebrity it can be harmful too. They drove at least one celebrity away in tears and he was a nice gut (Wil Wheaton).
@freemo I just read about him.
If Wil Wheaton is saying the truth i.e. he was forced to leave the platform because multiple users reported him (for apparently no valid reason) then it begs for many questions.
Since moderators are the ones who control the instances they need to follow the same rules they set themselves & not fall for mobs/ trolls/ mass reporting.
As much I have differences in opinion with various users, I'd still love to converse in a decent way. I wouldn't support reporting, Unless of course if we cross the threshold limit.
(Based on what I understood from the blog post of Wil Wheaton & The Verge article)
