I love everyone whining about C being a “lingua franca” but when you ask “okay, so is <your pet language> willing to stabilize an ABI so other languages can interact with it?” the answer is either *crickets* or “fuck you everyone should just switch to <language> and all other languages should be abandoned.”

@nytpu I don't whine, i praise Haskell's great C FFI. The best thing about C is that it allows a decent interface with other, more sensible languages.

@L29Ah I appreciate a good C FFI too, what I mean is every few months I see a post about someone complaining about languages not being able to directly FFI with each other without needing C as a middleman, but they don't seem to comprehend that you can't have FFI without having some stable ABI to share functions with lol
