Trying to reset the bios password on a thinkpad by shorting the eeprom pins didn't work, so now I'm trying to dump it with a pi.
@silver I might be just guessing here since I have never worked that deeply in a laptop before. Is it that different that it doesn't have a normal jumper to reset the bios?
@LittleWytch correct, on this laptop the password is written to flash and a battery yank won't clear it. I'm hoping to sniff it on boot or write a new image to it with the password zero'd out.
Well, a battery clear removed the ability to boot into an os, so that's fun. Too bad i2cdump isn't working for me yet.
