This headline leaves out a critical word in the lede: He has "a visceral reaction *against*" taking down Confederate statues. He's defending the Confederacy. But The Post softens that for the headline. Headlines matter.

@jeffjarvis I could not read the article because of the pay wall but I’ve always been in the camp of human tendency is to forget, or out right deny the truth about the past. I felt that they should have been relabeled for the horrible things that they stood for and keep as an undeniable reminder of what happened. Not a popular opinion I know but there it is. Just look at the latest stupid comments coming from the orange clown from down town. Memory’s are short, or selective.

@Phiend @jeffjarvis That's what museums are for. And, from what I understand, that's where most of these statues end up after being taken down from positions of honor in public squares.
