One of the weirdest things from doing A City on Mars is the people who do some version of "actually it'll be cheap" and then explain that you could get a huge Mars base for just, like, 1% of Earth's GDP. Or, if you took everyone's budget for entertainment and put it into space, you could do amazing stuff.
@ZachWeinersmith I mean on some level there’s entertainment value there. I would personally be willing to give a certain portion of my entertainment budget in order to be entertained by people trying to colonize Mars on a shoestring. Sort of a dark humor, but I think it would catch on.
@gewalker @ZachWeinersmith I would too, but given who wants to lead this endeavor, I get the feeling it would be cancelled by reality with a climactic finale halfway into season one.
