This announcement is strange since Twitter has allowed hard core pornography forever. My guess is that this is formalizing that they will now monetize this content and build an OnlyFans competitor versus just being top of funnel for those content producers

I'm struggling to remember what it was but there was one of Musk's many seemingly-arbitrary chnages that caused a bunch of people to sit up, point & say 'THAT, THAT is what tells us he's trying to start a new OnlyFans-killer.' It was a while ago, maybe as much as a year. Maybe someone else remembers.
