I'll just remind everyone again that - even in the US - freedom of speech is NOT UNLIMITED. Hate speech, incitement, fighting words and other statements that are affected by torts are EXCEPTIONS to freedom of speech.

Anyone sharing content on any public channels that is considered incitement or encouraging a direct violent act is NOT protected by the #FirstAmendment in the US, or by freedom of expression laws in any other jurisdiction.

@joannejacobs Hate speech is not an exception in the United States. It is fully protected by the first amendment.

Incitement is an exception, but it's very narrowly defined and difficult to prove. Generally, a call for violence on social media would not meet that standard, though there are absolutely limited circumstances under which it might.
