Okay, here's my #introduction post! I'm not publicly on social media (eg I don't use my full name, I don't post pics of me or my family), but hopefully broad strokes can give some idea of who I am and what I'll be posting/sharing/re-tooting (if that's the right word?)...
#Science - I'm a #pharmacist with a PharmD. I'm lucky enough to #workfromhome. I spend most of my days researching and writing up summaries of newly approved drugs - including new indications, new dosage forms, etc.
#Sports - Haven't had many of my follows from the Birdplace move over here (yet?), but I love my Milwaukee Bucks (#BucksIn6 #fearthedeer), Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers.
#Politics - I'll try to keep most of my political commentary behind a Content Warning (which I think is the standard on Mastodon), but I don't think I can add a CW for re-toots. (if there is, teach me things!) I support WisDems, Voces de la Frontera, 4 Directions, and President Biden. I write #PostcardsToVoters, as time allows. And I vote in Every. Election. I. Can. (Wisconsin has a pivotal judicial election coming in April. Have you heard?)
#parenting - I'm a cishet married mom to 2 amazing kids. (3 and almost 1) I won't be posting photos, but stories may be a thing. Kids really do say and do the darndest things.
#recipes - I like to cook and bake and try new things. Photos (and recipes) might be shared upon occasion.
And there's plenty more, probably, but this feels like a good start at least.
Forgot to post these especially cute photos of the Vice Admiral on Saturday night. We had extra guests and he was really in his element, herding everyone around. When we finally all sat in the living room he was visibly relieved. 😂 Every so often someone would get up to hit the kitchen or bathroom and he’d be like, “Oh fer crying out loud you have GOT to be kidding me, I JUST got you all in here….” and he’d haul his impressive physique up to go urge them to return.
“She wrote to a scientist about her fatigue. It inspired a breakthrough. Her dogged efforts lead to a new scientific discovery that may help others with long covid and other chronically fatiguing illnesses”

I know that not a lot of people agree with me, but the live-action reboot of Cowboy Bebop really deserved a second season.
on my bike ride home, I passed a kid who was maybe 11 years old riding his bike the opposite direction on the sidewalk, and while we were passing he yelled at me, “I’m riding a bike too!!”
I rang my little bell and we gave each other a thumbs-up and it was so cute & wholesome ☺️
(honestly this is the interaction I hope for every time I pass another cyclist)
important info if you have a blog/content website etc which you would not want to be used by OpenAI for their data vacuuming

If you live in *Ohio* you should have voted "no" by now. But, if you haven't you still have till the end of Aug 8th! Time to search up your poll site and get going!
(But, don't feel bad if this referendum caught you off guard, Ohio Republicans are hoping no one will show up to vote.)
Vote NO on issue 1. It's a strange constitutional amendment that changes the threshold to make it possible for a small group to veto everything. It's the only thing on the ballot.
"Why can't we just agree to disagree on politics?"
My dude.
- Agree to disagree was called pro-choice. You ended it and shoved authoritarian control of women's bodies down our throats.
- Agree to disagree was called LGBTQ inclusion. You banned it from schools, libraries, bathrooms, and the military.
- Agree to disagree was called Black Lives Matter. You mocked it and spat on it and threatened us with violence if we "try that in a small town".
- Agree to disagree was called Democracy. You traitors tried to kill it and install a military coup of your orange god emperor instead.
So no. Apparently, "we" CAN'T agree to disagree. And that's entirely your fault.
Little tip!💡
When you are looking for a vacation or hotel booking etc online
First check the prices, after that clear your browser data and open a VPN. Set it to use a 'lower wealthy' country and check those same prices again
Often bookings sites use cookies and other tracking methodes to see where you are and ajust the price
The same goes with holidays, often prices increase so using a VPN can get around this sometimes
Another thing is the upping of prices after a first visit to scare you
Ok, people. Please boost!
My dad found a passport belonging to Andrew Faller-Saunders in Waterloo. He is or was a student at U Waterloo. I've messaged him on Facebook but he hasn't logged in for ages. I tried adding him on LinkedIn but that can be hit and miss.
If you know him, or know someone who might, can you get him to contact me? My work details are:

If you can think of a better hashtag for more visibility, let me know!
Thanks!
I would like one journalist to ask a politician asserting that DJT action’s are protected by the First Amendment to explain why doctors can be jailed for advising a woman about reproductive healthcare options.
BREAKING: The 5th Circuit just STRUCK DOWN Mississippi's lifetime voting ban for people convicted of certain crimes—a Jim Crow-era law designed to target Black voters.
It disenfranchises more people than made the difference in the 2019 governor's race.

Boosting @Teri_Kanefield and @emptywheel tonight because this is an historical day and Mastodon is a great source. Also good to follow @icymi_law right now.
Putting this out there, hoping the power of Mastodon works!
My daughter just started community college and is looking for an entry level research lab role (she wants to do biochemistry). I don’t have any connections in this area but if anyone has any tips on how to get in, we’d be grateful for your help. Location: #SFBayArea
Today, Justice Janet Protasiewicz takes her seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the balance shifts from 4-3 conservative to 4-3 liberal.
Abortion rights and gerrymandering are on the agenda.
(And probably not overturning election results).
Fascinating developments for the family of #HenriettaLacks: "Around the time of her death, Hopkins researchers discovered the cells they had secretly sampled from their patient’s cervix were capable of regenerating outside the body, and they shared Lacks’ miraculous cells with other scientists for free. They’re now widely used around the world."
