I'm still figuring it out here (the learning curve is sure to last awhile I think) - @mguhlin are you also on qoto.org? Do people usually join more than one instance?
@MrsDi Sorry to barge in but I thought I'd share what others have told me - I think you typically join one instance at a time, but moving between them is also possible if the server's moderation policies don't mesh well with what you are looking to accomplish here. Since each instance is part of the "fediverse" you only need to be on one at a time.

Interesting - it's such a different mindset and I'm still wrapping my brain around all the possibilities!
@MrsDi @rdavis someone suggested that you could view the different instances as different e-mail services. There’s no problem sending (and receiving) mail from your gmail account to outlook, hotmail, yahoo and so on.
