It's unknown whether the naked mole-rat can pass the mirror test because no ethics committee will approve the experiment due to the potential for psychological to the test subjects.

This one is partly true (I think).

As far as I know, no one has done the mirror test with a naked mole rat, but doubt if an ethics committee would prevent the experiment for that reason. And I think the rat would be more traumatized by being confined and handled than it would be by looking at itself in the mirror (but I'm not sure).
