People may lament Flash but only the deep sea creatures remember Shockwave and the ancients remember it's own progenitor HyperCard.
Shockwave Flash was when they cut all the developer tools out and just made a motion graphics tool and then it eclipsed the original and just became Macromedia Flash and then later it got it's programming language added but little does everyone know ActionScript was a piss version of Limbo that the platform already had 
Anyway yeah do now we have a shitty W3C standard of nonfunctional parts that people claim is a better replacement.
