"根據《每日郵報》 報導，「洋海墓群」（Yanghai Graveyard）位於吐魯番盆地火焰山南部的鄯善縣，當地洋海夏村村民於1970年發現這座古老的墓葬聚集地；2003年開始，考古學家已在這裡挖掘出500多座墓葬，而這件仿生皮甲就是在一個30多歲男子的墓中被找到。
經過專家鑑定調查，由於這款皮甲是在介於歐亞大陸之間的吐魯番發現，因此團隊認為可能非中國人製作，而是公元前911年至公元前609年的新亞述帝國（Neo-Assyrian Empire）的產物；在重組恢復後，團隊發現該皮甲重達5公斤，由5444塊形狀較小和140塊形狀較大的魚鱗形牛皮革橫向排列，並用皮革帶串接起來，可用於保護前胸後背，穿脫方便。"

Also in the man's tomb was pottery, two horse cheek pieces made from horn and wood and the skull of a sheep.
'The horse cheek pieces which were found in the burial may indicate that the tomb owner was indeed a horseman,' said Wertmann.
'It seems the perfect outfit for both mounted fighters and foot soldiers, who have to move rapidly and rely on their own strength.' "
