"根據《每日郵報》 報導,「洋海墓群」(Yanghai Graveyard)位於吐魯番盆地火焰山南部的鄯善縣,當地洋海夏村村民於1970年發現這座古老的墓葬聚集地;2003年開始,考古學家已在這裡挖掘出500多座墓葬,而這件仿生皮甲就是在一個30多歲男子的墓中被找到。
經過專家鑑定調查,由於這款皮甲是在介於歐亞大陸之間的吐魯番發現,因此團隊認為可能非中國人製作,而是公元前911年至公元前609年的新亞述帝國(Neo-Assyrian Empire)的產物;在重組恢復後,團隊發現該皮甲重達5公斤,由5444塊形狀較小和140塊形狀較大的魚鱗形牛皮革橫向排列,並用皮革帶串接起來,可用於保護前胸後背,穿脫方便。"

Also in the man's tomb was pottery, two horse cheek pieces made from horn and wood and the skull of a sheep.
'The horse cheek pieces which were found in the burial may indicate that the tomb owner was indeed a horseman,' said Wertmann.
'It seems the perfect outfit for both mounted fighters and foot soldiers, who have to move rapidly and rely on their own strength.' "
