From what I can gather from the article, the list should be taken in the spirit of these are 10 of the (many) women scientists whose work has changed the world.

@Renshaw01 As a theoretical physicist, I'd also encourage people to look up Emmy Noether, whose work revolutionized our understanding of symmetry and conservation laws and is essential to the contemporary understanding of quantum field theory.
