My 12 year old wants to try game development. Any recommended tools? I've seen goDot...is that the place to start?
I work primarily in business software these days,not sure what the best entry points for game development are.
@SecondJon Godot is cool, it has a lot of language options or Godotscript. If you're looking for learning resources though you can't beat unity, there's a number higher than infinity and it's the number of unity tutorials online.

Have him learn c++, java, python and git. Check out the unreal engine as well since it's free until you start marketing a product that uses it.
