@koyu @Sphinx It's not impossible, but Hawaii benefits from have multiple cultures blend. The is no "default" monolithic ideology that says to stick to the hegemony of expression or be cast out. The hardest part is probably having people realize the way they structure the world is a result of history and not some grand order. Then it isn't as easy to dismiss understanding why others feel the way they do, you don't just have to get along, you realize that learning about others and their ideas is one of the basic parts of human happiness in a world where there is a better life to live than fighting a new foe. But it is probably hard to picture if you've never seen a world like that and you can't avoid people trying to make you out as an enemy. Aloha isn't just a word, the world could use it.

@Sphinx @koyu I don't think that browser has much to do with the world except maybe as inspiration. The wikipedia article gives a pretty good basic introduction: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aloha

It more than anything is an attitude toward other people, a type of respect and care which takes an easygoing form, but is still as deeply meant as the more seriously felt forms. It's a kind of responsibility to one's community that everyone upholds sincerely that is not taken so seriously as to be used to be used as an excuse to inflict hatred or suffering. It's the sharing of a joyful life with others that can even withstand tragedy and a deep rooted sadness.

@wistahe

i saw that too. reminds me of Pura vida in Spanish
