Absolutely! Please don't get me wrong on this. Not saying gay=Nazi. I just find it fascinating how authoritarians of all stripes seem to be self-loathing hypocrites completely incapable of self-awareness.

No, I didn't think that was what you were saying. There's a lot of reasons people buy into authoritarianism, but I suspect fear is at the core of most of it. Nothing scarier than thinking that who you are down deep is something that you believe is evil.

I think blaming "repressed homosexuality" for evil shit is severely overused as an excuse, but in Nick's case, it's worth some thought.
