In this planet we are the super wealthy. People are going to starve and drown and burn all over before any of this really affects us, the people that use the cars, the plastic, the meat. Okay, any individual action isn't going to change anything much, but we are much more than individuals.
@stewartvm if your city is built to essentially force people to have a car and if putting in cleaner energy in your homes is so expensive you can’t do it OR your HOA rules prevent it (which many do) that is bigger than the individual. I believe in community but in the 70s when Carter first began talking about global warming, the general public bought into it. Who didn’t the corporations & they have gaslit this country with propaganda so they need to be held responsible for that @StillIRise1963
1979 @Danetteb @stewartvm @StillIRise1963 there would have been solar panels in every house in Puerto Rico had Carter had a 2nd term. my father was part of a group of urban developers trying to get them manufactured and sold in the island. Reagan not only killed the program and rolled back the subsidies but killed every single project that could have made the island energy independent.
my hope is to go back home and research my hometown’s archives on that project. it enrages me this happened.

Reagan, won on the southern strategy. The southern strategy worked(s) because America never properly buried the confederacy. The confederacy was coddled like a spoiled child, and the good intentions of reconstruction were reduced to a semi-failure. Until we properly bury the confederacy, the sickness will continue.
