when I first saw this, I thought it might be about the Covid relief funding. We did have some inflation, but the relief funds seemed to have had a similar effect.
The inability to spend $ on services and travel drove spending into a limited set of goods whose availability was restricted by supply chain issues and that drove inflation, it wasn't the size of the relief itself.
Corporations in consolidated sectors made inflation worse by artificially increasing prices more than required to cover wholesale inflation generating a ton of excess profits.
