smoking, vaping

"New study: Not one vaping illness linked to legal e-cigarette pods"

Ya think?

re: smoking, vaping

@kaikatsu That's not gonna help much, vaping has such a shit reputation that they stop at "vaping death" and go "Ah ha! I knew that shit couldn't be healthy!" They don't care or want to hear how it might not be what they think.

re: smoking, vaping

@guizzy Exactly. The FUD has already spread and now everybody who isn't already vaping thinks its insta-death. RIdiculous.

See, they were too busy making cutters for cigar heads when we should have made one for the heads of big tobacco.

re: smoking, vaping

@kaikatsu @guizzy VAPING IS KILLING PEOPLE WE NEED TO GO BACK TO CIGARETTES RIGHT NOW!!!

re: smoking, vaping

@moonman @guizzy This is legit what people say though. I was told yesterday that smoking is better than vaping. Because 18 kids getting sick from bootleg shit this year despite 10 years of no vaping issues is the same as 480k people dying a year of smoking.

It's legit baffling. The kinda stuff that makes you wonder of monarchs had the right idea.

re: smoking, vaping

@kaikatsu @moonman @guizzy I was accosted by a janitor at work for vaping out in the courtyard. This was the day after those bogus photos of the kid came out and the guy was shocked and appalled and was basically shouting at me. I'm still new and didn't want to be caught fighting with a janitor, so I took my licks. There's no convincing guy anyways. It was all very strange and worse treatment than I ever got back when I was a cigarette smoker.
@tmy @kaikatsu @guizzy @moonman The reason for this new propaganda is that the vaping industry got popular enough that it was poised to perhaps completely replace the conventional tobacco industry. since Big Tobacco has such a financial stake in US Political Funding, why do you think it's happening? Do the math. Fake articles, nonsense in Congress, and so on.

Recall that it is due to Big Tobacco that it is also illegal to grow your own tobacco plant.

@se7en @guizzy @tmy @kaikatsu @moonman You can grow your own tobacco in most places in the US, you just can't sell or trade it.

@Surasanji @moonman @kaikatsu @guizzy @se7en That's cuz they want you to be paying up the ass in taxes.

Wikipedia: "According to data from the World Health Organization on cigarette taxes around the world, the US is ranked 36th out of the 50 most populous countries in terms of the percent of cigarette pack costs from taxes. Their data estimates that taxes make up 42.5% of the cost of a pack of cigarettes in the US, compared to 82.2% in the United Kingdom, which has the highest cigarette taxes."
