At St. Nicholas Hospital in Lviv, cardiac surgeons performed a highly complex operation and successfully saved a newborn baby from Zakarpattia named Marichka who was suffering from critical aortic stenosis. This was the first time such an operation had been performed in Lviv, known as the Ross-Conneau operation, which involved transplanting the baby's pulmonary artery valve to replace the aortic one. The operation lasted for over seven hours and the postoperative period was without any complications. Marichka was brought to Lviv by an ambulance, as she was no longer breathing on her own.
