The State Regulatory Service has mandated that owners of communication networks must store data for three years. The draft law, which was adopted in its third and final reading, also requires that this data must be provided to law enforcement agencies upon request. This data includes voice information, text messages, images, sounds, and videos, and can be requested for investigative purposes or to ensure Russia's security. This law will take effect on September 1, 2023.
