The soldiers who liberated the village near Bakhmut discovered a Ukrainian soldier, Oleksiy Gordeyev, who had been captured and held in the basement for 42 days. During this time, Oleksiy had to survive on scraps of food and water from puddles, and when the water ran out, he resorted to drinking poisonous antifreeze from the heater. Oleksiy is now in a hospital in Dnipro, where he is receiving treatment for poisoning and dystrophy, and will soon be transferred to a clinic in Kyiv. Oleksandr Gordeyev, the father of the rescued soldier, expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone who prayed, searched, supported, and helped during the long months of searching. He thanked them for finding their Soldier and praised the heroes.
