Today, many of our readers were alarmed by the news that a new anti-aircraft missile regiment has been formed in Belarus near the Ukrainian border. In this evening's post, we will discuss how this could pose a threat to Ukraine. The new regiment is located in Luninka, Brest Oblast, just 50 kilometers from Rivne. The Belarusian Defense Ministry has stated that special attention was paid to the creation of modern military infrastructure and training and material base. Belarusian monitoring groups, having analyzed the movement of equipment, believe that the regiment was transferred from another unit to the S-300 system. They also do not rule out the arrival of S-400 systems, as it was previously reported that Belarusians received a regimental set of these systems from Russia. Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin has cited possible unpredictability on the part of Ukraine as the reason for the formation of the regiment, and he also stated that military potential is growing near the borders of Belarus, as the West is supplying Ukraine with weapons. Analysts continue to emphasize that Belarus is used by the Russians exclusively as a training ground for their personnel, and all their statements and the formation of regiments, territorial defense, etc. mean nothing to us.
