Russian President Vladimir Putin "almost certainly" ordered the Russian military command to shoot down the plane of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner PMC, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) writes.

Analysts call the move "a public attempt to reassert his dominance and avenge the humiliation that the armed rebellion of the Wagner Group on June 23-24 inflicted on Putin and the Russian Defense Ministry."
