In a video, Wang Feng, who stated Russian propaganda slogans about the "killing of the children of Donbas," was seen alongside her husband, Zhou Xiaoping. Zhou Xiaoping is a member of the People's Political Consultative Council under the Chinese Communist Party.

Yuriy Poita, an employee of the Institute for National Defense and Security Research in Taipei, saved and shared screenshots of Xiaoping's posts on the Chinese social network Weibo on Facebook. In these posts, he supported his wife and placed blame for the destruction of the drama theater not on Russia but on Ukraine. However, the Chinese official later deleted these posts.

Previously, it was reported that the Chinese delegation consisted only of pro-Russian bloggers and journalists, and it is unclear whether Zhou Xiaoping was present in Mariupol.
