🇷🇴 Romania will shoot down Russian drones if threatened - defence chief

Romania's Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, General Georgica Vlad, said that Romania is ready to shoot down Russian drones that pose a threat to it.

Georgica Vlad said that due to Russia's frequent attacks on Ukrainian ports on the Danube, which is close to Romanian territory, Romania has deployed about 600 military personnel and radar systems in the Danube Delta region.

"We have deployed several radars, we have activated our defence system and we have discussed with our NATO allies solutions to counter Russian aggression," General Vlad said.

When asked whether Romania would use its air defence system against Russian drones, Georgica Vlad did not exclude the possibility of it.

"Depending on the level of the threat, we are ready to use all available military means to defend the territory of Romania," he said.
