ATF Dingo –🇩🇪 heavy armored combat support vehicle of the MRAP class, manufactured by the Krauss-Maffei Wegmann company. It is intended for the transportation and fire support of personnel, cargo, and can also act as a platform for installing various equipment (medevak, radar, repair version, etc.). As part of its obligations, Germany handed over 50 vehicles in the Dingo 2 version to the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The machine has been used in combat formations of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces since November 2022.

Protection

The body of the machine is formed from armored steel and "MEXAS" combined armor. The armor corresponds to level 3 of the STANAG 4569 standard, which provides protection against 7.62 mm bullets and artillery shells. As in other vehicles of the MRAP class, the Dingo body has a V-shaped shape that protects the crew and the landing party from an explosion equivalent to up to 8 kg of TNT. The anti-mine system of the seats prevents the transfer of the energy of the explosion to the crew. The car's windows are angled to deflect bullets and fragments of explosive devices. Armor protection can be strengthened with the help of additional panels.
The machine is also equipped with a system of protection against radiation and chemical threats.

Armament

The machine is equipped with a remote-controlled turret installed on the roof of the machine. The standard armament is the MG-3 7.62 mm machine gun, which can also be replaced by the 12.7 mm M3M machine gun or the HK GMG 40 mm automatic grenade launcher. The remote combat module has a gyrostabilization system that ensures maximum accuracy and controllability even when moving quickly over difficult terrain.

Mobility

Dingo 2 is built on a two-axle modernized Unimog U5000 chassis , which provides improved protection and greater payload. It is available in two versions: with a wheelbase of 3.25 m (short version) and 3.85 m (long version). This allows you to choose machine options depending on the specifics of the tasks.
