The announcement made by Russia to conduct presidential elections in the occupied territories of Ukraine, including Crimea and parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, has drawn condemnation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has denounced these actions as a violation of international law principles, notably the UN Charter. Consequently, the agency has declared the election process illegal and null and void.
The scheduled date for the Russian presidential election in these territories is March 17, 2024.
