Before Navalny's body was returned to his mother .

The Yabloko party previously demanded that the body be returned to his mother.

The social-liberal political party in Russia stated “We consider it unacceptable to impose any conditions on a funeral for a mother who lost her son.”

The statement published by the party follows :

“The inhumanity of the authorities towards the mother of Alexei Navalny is shocking.

What is happening is much more cruel than the actions of the later Soviet authorities towards Soviet dissidents who died in the colony.

After his unprecedented hunger strike and death in 1986, Anatoly Marchenko was allowed to have a funeral service and be buried with respect for the deceased, and KGB officers observed the funeral but did not interfere with it.

We are witnessing the total dehumanization of the Russian state machine."
