🐬 In the Black Sea in March 130 dolphins died
“Among those found were shell-shocked animals with symptoms of sonar damage. At the same time, many of the dead were white-sided dolphins. But now we have received terrible information about the large-scale death of dolphins - another 130 in March 2024 alone, whose bodies were found off different shores of the Krasnodar Territory - Sochi, Novorossiysk,”
Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor and scientific journalist Ivan Rusev wrote.
Rusev notes that the Russian fleet is constantly in those waters, using sonar devices that kill marine mammals.
“Previously, before the start of the war, dolphin strandings in March were a very rare occurrence. And now, according to our estimates, the real number of dead in 2024 is already several thousand animals , taking into account the fact that the sea throws out only 5% of dead bodies,”
Rusev added.
It's worth noting that before the movement of most of the Black Sea Fleet ships to Novorossiysk, the same situation with the death of dolphins was off the coast of Crimea.
