"You cannot win a war through food restrictions. Our decision was correct, and I would make it again exactly the same way," said Andreas Ronken, the company's CEO.

Ritter Sport also explained that Russia is the second-largest market for sales. Reducing production would lead to a large number of layoffs and negatively impact farmers who grow cocoa in West Africa, Central, and South America.
