Sailor Lyubomyr Sohan died on June 23, 2023 in the area of ​​the village of Staromayorske in the Donetsk region.

While performing a combat mission, he received fatal shrapnel wounds and explosive injuries. The defender is forever 35.

For the sake of a free country and a peaceful future for his children, the man defended Ukraine during a full-scale Russian invasion. Lubomyr became a soldier of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the grenade launcher unit of the 18th separate battalion of the 35th separate marine brigade.

"Lyubomyr, together with his comrades, defended the integrity of our state and expelled the enemy from populated areas of the Donetsk region. He died protecting all of us with his body, covering his comrades. Lubomyr fulfilled his duty as a citizen of Ukraine, a patriot to protect his state with honor and dignity. Until his last breath, he remained loyal to his brothers, his people and his Motherland."
