In the first photo, National Guard serviceman Roman Horilyk, who spent two years in Russian captivity. He was the senior checkpoint controller guarding the Chernobyl NPP. He was taken hostage by the Russians and transported out of Ukraine through Belarus in March 2022. During his entire time in captivity, Roman was never visited by observers from the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The second photo is from an exhibition of archival documents by the Security Service of Ukraine about the 1932-1933 Holodomor, titled ‘Declassified Memory.’ The Holodomor was an artificial famine created by the Soviet authorities, recognized by many countries as an act of genocide against Ukrainians.
