Ukraine Become 4th Largest Arms Importer Globally
According to a recent report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Ukraine has become the fourth largest arms importer in the world for the period of 2019-2023. This makes Ukraine the top arms importer in Europe during this period.
The top three global arms importers are India (9.8% of global imports), Saudi Arabia (8.4%), and Qatar (7.6%). The SIPRI report highlights significant increases in arms imports to Europe, largely driven by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which has resulted in a substantial rise in Ukraine's demand for military equipment.
