"The Kremlin and Putin himself realize that they will lose this war," stated Swedish Minister of Defense Paul Jonson in an interview with Bild.

"But I believe that Russia is very interested in dividing us politically, both in the EU and in NATO. We see this, and I believe that Ukraine is currently a protective shield against Russian military expansion.

If that shield falls because we don’t have the stamina or the will to invest enough money to continue supporting Ukraine, the threat against us will certainly increase," Jonson said.

He also expressed concern that Georgia and Moldova might face an increased threat.
