Germany is confronting a very real threat from the Russian Federation, necessitating a significant increase in the military budget for 2025, as stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
The total planned expenses for 2025 are €480.6 billion, with defense expenditures accounting for €53 billion. This marks an increase of €1.25 billion compared to the current year.
