RuZZia interrupted the broadcast on the children's TV channel Walt Disney in Europe with scenes of war

Russia began to regularly interfere in television broadcasting in European countries. It tries to interfere with satellite signals or intercept them, which has provoked disruptions in the broadcast and once even led to the placement of war scenes on a children's TV channel.

Problems are observed in different countries, from Ukraine to Portugal. Sweden, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and France complained to the leadership of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, Bloomberg reports, citing documents on the matter. According to a person familiar with the situation, Swedish satellites were subjected to electronic attacks from Moscow, Kaliningrad and Crimea. He also added that from mid-March to the end of May, serious failures were noted in the operation of at least three satellites of the French operator Eutelsat.

On two occasions, on March 28 and April 17, programs on Walt Disney's children's BabyTV channel were replaced by scenes of military operations in russian. In particular, on March 28, a video clip for a propaganda song by Oleg Gazmanov was shown with numerous scenes showing the 'brave modern russian army, shooting tanks, combat aircraft', as well as archival footage of the 'Great Patriotic War'.

Because of this interference, the Dutch cable operator Ziggo excluded BabyTV from its TV package until the beginning of May.

"It was clearly determined that the interference comes from large ground stations and therefore should be recorded and monitored by the authorities of the RF," the French National Frequency Agency said in a letter to the ITU.
