russia lost more elite soldiers in 1 year near Vuhledar than in 10 years of Chechen War, BBC reports.
These losses are not sustainable regardless of what russia wants you to believe.
Ukrainian forces withdrew from Vuhledar on October 2 after russian forces swarmed the town
But the cost of this victory for russians is staggering and defies any rational explanation.
At least 211 marines from russia's 155th Brigade were killed during the battle for Vuhledar, with 42 missing.
72 russian soldiers from the 40th Brigade were confirmed dead.
Both russian brigades began using Storm-Z units made up of convicts due to heavy losses.
That’s a round about way of saying that the russian commanders create suicide units. Everyone in these units attack until they die are severely wounded.
Ukrainians suffered extremely heavy losses during the defense of Vuhledar and their retreat. But russians lost times more. For what? To gain another village that used to have 14K inhabitants.
Even with the increased pace of the russian advances, russia needs years to get to any large Ukrainian city.
russia has also increased the rate at which it kills its soldiers.
Can it go on forever? Absolutely not!
