North Korean troops, who attempted to flee their positions in the Kursk region, may be involved in assault operations against the Ukrainian forces, Kyiv Post sources from the Defense Intelligence reported.

18 servicemen from North Korea, who attempted to escape, were detained by Russian forces in the Komarichsky district of the Bryansk region.

About 40 DPRK military instructors and about 50 Russians were stationed in a forest near Kolyachek in the Khomutovsky district of the Kursk region. The North Koreans trained Russian troops in using balloons for military purposes, while Russian personnel instructed the North Koreans in modern infantry combat based on experience from the so-called “special military operation.”

After completing their training, the North Korean servicemen were left in a forest near Kolyachek in the Khomutovsky district for several days without food or instructions about their future plans. On October 14, some of them chose to leave their positions in search of Russian command.

Two days later, on October 16, the missing servicemen were located and detained by Russian forces, approximately 60 kilometers from their escape point.

Sources indicate that all 40 North Korean servicemen stationed in the Khomutovsky district have now been moved to the Lgovsky district of the Kursk region for further deployment
