The money was allocated from the federal and republican budgets. In particular, 25 bn was to be spent on building a children's park on the embankment of the Kazanka River and repairing lighting networks along the summit routes. Construction, repair and cosmetic work had been carried out in 22 hotels in Kazan for the summit. In particular, 14 hotels had been equipped with luxury and presidential rooms.

Due to the preparations, it was proposed to increase the expenditure side of the Tatarstan budget by 39.2 billion rubles. The expenses are mainly related to bringing the social and engineering infrastructure, as well as the roads of Kazan, into a standard condition.
